From the East - March 2010

Over the last two months we have discussed the difficult task of finding meaning in this often confusing world while simultaneously engaging in a daily practice of cultivating harmony with all those whom we encounter herein. It naturally follows, then, that the next step of our journey should be a discussion of choosing.

From the East - February 2010

We are reminded in the First Degree that the traditions and customs of our Order have always been in accord with those of the ancient Egyptian philosophers.

From the East - January 2010

Ever since I was an impressionable young lad I have had this passage from the Bible memorized: Ezekiel 25:17, “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

Adam's Astronomy Addiction - Sky at a Glance

As an avid reader of Sky and Telescope Magazine (yes, I subscribe to the hardcopy!*), I often take for granted this most excellent tool they put out on their website. It's called Sky at a Glance; it lists all of the upcoming astronomical events for the coming week, as well as a Planetary Roundup so you know exactly how and where to find those wonderful luminescent orbs right from your the porchway or entrance of your favourite temple.

Adam's Astronomy Addiction - Chinese Astronomy

Well Brethren,

It has been a while since I've had a chance to post to AAA and I must admit, it's only back by popular demand :-)

At the time I was on the LRT heading south for my 6PM class at the University. Did any of you fellas see it while heading in for the Degree?

Glad to Have Made It

Brethren,

I am glad I made it out to the tail end of the Festive Board this evening -- the joy I experienced seeing all of you who were still there I cannot describe. Even though I am in classes on Thursday nights now I am, from now on, going to make a point of getting out albeit a little late!

PS: Thanks for the hat Mark! :-)

Adam's Astronomy Addiction - Hubble Offline

Just imagine being the poor guy who had to go home Saturday night and say, "Honey! I broke the Hubble!" -- definitely not what I'd call a particularly proud moment, that's for sure. But someone went home with head hung low and indeed, this has sent a ripple through the astronomical community.
