What an amazing time to be a Mason. This is the time of year that we gather together to celebrate the wonders of our Brother. We attend Installations and I have yet to have experienced running into as many members of Exemplar out visiting as I have in the last month.
But is this not typical of life in general. The holiday season is a time where men of all walks of life finally make the time to visit with family. To spend time with those who they have not seen in many fortnights. I have seen Brothers lit up with a joy and an exuberance I do not see them with in our Lodge.
Why is it that attending our Lodge is labourous and unpleasant and yet there is joy in visiting. Each opportunity we have to partake in our secrets and grow as a Mason should be something to be relished. Treat each moment you wear the apron as a gift from God. for that is what it is.
The Lodge you belong to should be a gathering of your closest friends and greatest supporters. This should be one of the highlights of each month. There is nothing I look forward to each month than visiting with my Brothers. I am free to be myself. I receive wise council. I have no enemies.
Every time I walk through the doors I feel truly blessed. I feel awed by the gifts I have been given. I truly wish that the joy I saw on my Brothers' faces, I could see at all meetings.
It is my hope that I continue to run into many more members of Exemplar in my travels. If we can use that joy and excitement and channel it into our Lodge, we can grow and inspire. Our Lodge can become an Oasis in the storm of life.
